On the 30 July 2016, in round 19, Brent Harvey, also known as “Boomer”, broke the record for the number of AFL games played. Michael Tuck had held the record since 1991 and it seemed it would stand forever.
Australia Post released a cover with a special medallion, a special postmark and a P stamp with Harvey in the selvedge. All three items had the number 427 prominently displayed. It was the new record although he went on to play 432 games by the end of the season. This now stands as the record. (Never say Never)
