The 2013–14 Ashes (named Commonwealth Bank Ashes Series for sponsorship reasons) was a Test cricket series between England and Australia. The five venues for the series were the Brisbane Cricket Ground, the Adelaide Oval, the WACA Ground, the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Sydney Cricket Ground.[
Australia won the series 5–0 and regained the Ashes for the first time since 2006–07. In doing so, Australia recorded only the third 5–0 Ashes clean sweep in history. With 37 wickets and three man of the match awards, Mitchell Johnson was player of the series.
Australia Post produced a series of Philatelic items based on the winning team photograph at the SCG and the Ashe’s urn surrounded by a laurel wreath.
The 60c Urn stamp and the $2.60 International Post team stamp were issued as gummed stamps in a sheet of modules of 50 with a gutter design. The two gummed stamps were issued as a miniature sheet. The 60c urn stamp was also issued in a sheetlet pack of ten. The international stamp was also issued as a Peel & Stick booklet of five. The stamp was large with a size of 52mm x 37.5mm.
Australia Post did not issue a FDC for the Booklet Stamp.
The gutter of the sheets had a design shown below as FDCs from Wesley Cover Service. (The bowler got left out)
