In 2011 the Australian Council of NSW, in conjunction with Australia Post, encouraged Australians from across the country to explore the theme of “Who are we?” They wanted Australians to showcase how they live by photography. The prize was the image being displayed on a stamp.
The response was overwhelming, with 3,500 images submitted in the categories of Community, Pride, Family and Mates, and Freedom.
One of the winners was “Cricket at the Gabba” in the Family and Mates category. It was shot by Nambour amateur photographer Katelyn Wall, who shot the photograph in 2008 at the third day of a test Australia v India. The subject is her brother.
